I have to say folks, I was at a local Cabelas and saw WOLF Gold 147gr JHP ammo. It was some wicked looking stuff. I wonder has anyone used it, or seen a review? Is it worth my buying ($13.00 for a box of 50 rounds of HD appropriate cartridges)

Haven't tried the Wolf ammo that you mentioned but I did try the Speer Gold Dot Short Barrel 9mm + P ammo. The Speer stuff is pretty wicked.

Never heard of it. It seems that Wolf keeps on finding more and more interesting sources for ammo.

If you want to send me a few rounds (5-10) I wouldnt mind testing it in water jugs for expansion and penetration if you dont have a place to do it yourself.

I might try a box, but WWB 147gr HP is $10.50 or so per 50rd box. I don't think the Prvi Partizan (Yugo) made Wolf will be replacing Winchester in the foreseeable future for me, simply due to cost.

It's debatable whether to use Wolf for practice or not...some do and some choose not to due to quality or materials concerns.

Either way, I just don't see myself using Wolf for serious, self-defense purposes.

We talked about this at a match not long ago.. Its suppost to be a lot better then the "typical" wolf ammo. They were suppost to go to a brass case (that can be reloaded) and no Lacquer coating and a better primer.

Can anyone confim this?

borged, yes I can confirm what you said. This is nothing like the traditional Wolf you are used to. Wolf didn't "go to a brass case, etc". They have simply rebranded Prvi Partizan and began importing it to the US. Again, this is made by Prvi Partizan of Yugoslavia and rebranded by Wolf. Brass cased, boxer primed, non-corrosive, reloadable.
