Has anybody tried the hornady zombie max stuff? $17.99 a box looks tempting but I don't know if its any good. I do hand load but like to keep HD guns loaded with decent store bought stuff.

i THINK the Zombie Max is basically the same stuff as the Hornady CD ammo with a green tip. anyone know more about it? please correct me if im wrong

I'm pretty sure the Zombie thing is just a repackaging. But why pay $18 for 20 when you can get something like the Winchester Talons for $27 for 50? Just check either of the links to SGAmmo in this thread.

The Zombie max are the same as the CD they are just using the Zombie idea to sell more. Although the ZM has a plain brass case and a green poly plug but still I haven't seen it locally. And to make things worse the CD are now up to $23/per20 due to recent demand of SD ammo...

Why cant Democrats just leave our guns alone?

What i carry

In my house gun and medium to full size 9m.m. pistols, I use FEDERAL 124 grain HYDDRO SHOK +P+. This was the carry ammo that I was issued when I carried a GLOCK 17 on duty. No one ever reported having a problem with this ammo or any lack of stopping power in the field. It is also accurate.

A less fierce load for my smaller 9m.m. pistols is the standard velocity FEDERAL 124 grain HYDDRO SHOK. Like the +P+ round, it is very accurate in all my guns. We were issued this as PRACTICE ammo, so I still have some left over.

For practice is all my gun and in guns that do not feed the HYDRO SHOK well, I use REMINGTON 115 grain jacketed hollow point. I buy it in 100 round boxes at WALMART. I also use it in compact 9m.m. pistols. The recoil is mild.

The only other load that I use is the COR BON Powerball 9m.m. round. It is the only expanding round I have found to work in an old SIG P6 (225) police trade in that I have and is used by my wife who loves the feel of the grip.
