Anybody tried this glow-in-the-dark sight paint?

Well it works prety well. It's a poor mans night sites. Hit it with a mag light or your super bright whatever for about 30 seconds and they will glow for several hours. Don't expect them to be as bright as a good set of night sites but it's better than nothing. Yes they will look a little green in the daylight but only the gun snobs will say anything.;)

Glowing paint

I tried it and it was worthless. In order to activate it, it had to be exposed to a light source. It was never very bright and only worked in extreme darkness. Carrying the gun in a holster, pocket, etc, prevents light from activating the chemical which meant that it was "dead" when I needed it.

Tritium works better but costs a lot more.

I tried the paint and it does glow nicely, for a few minutes. Then the glow rapidly goes away. This stuff does not compare to tritium night sights.

I agree -- its a lot like the kids toys that glow in the dark. Mash it up against a bright light source and it will glow dimly for a few minutes. Pull it out of the safe or holster or a closet -- and you dont get anything. And, when those paints aren't glowing, they are not all that bright in color -- i.e., they are not a bright florescent color.

Haven't tried the Cabellas brand but used something similar.
Same results as the other posts, glowed real nice for a few minutes then was gone.

One of my brother's lil'uns showed up today with a bunch of craft paints, including glow in the dark paint.

Well the FEG hi-power just got 3 dots of glow in the dark paint. We'll see how it works.

Well this paint was kind of gooey, like liquid cement and I was hoping that by covering the dimples for existing white dots I'd get the desired effect. No dice. Not enough light - storing goo in that small a sample.

It was worth a try.
