Anyone a fan of Tightgroup?

Titegroup and WST is about all I use in 9mm and 45acp. I just bought some Silhouette and am going to give it a try next.

Titegroup is the least position sensitive powder I've used. Light loads in .357 brass with short, light bullets = poor loading density. Titegroup give better consistency than anything else I've tried in 100 yard silhouette loads.
In short barreled 9mm's, it gives top velocity with smaller charges.
Very good in .45acp target loads, almost as good as VV N310.
Meters beautifully.
You can find it anywhere.

Downside?
Burns hot as hades, smokey with lead and the tiny charges are hard to see in magnum brass.
Clouds up the plastic reservoir on my powder meter.

I have had very good results with Tightgroup. I have used it mostly for .45 auto and 45 long colt. It meters well through my XL650

It's position sensitivity is pretty average in .357 with light loads if you test it with the powder forward as in a downhill shot. Clays is much better. Try it, see what you think.

That is with plated bullets. Lead could perhaps be different. W-231 does great powder forward with lead bullets. Very little difference from powder back.

I love Titegroup! I use it in place of Unique when charges dip below 6gr because it meters so much better. Never had an issue with cast or swaged bullets, the smoke comes from the lube.

I've reloaded probably 5,000 rounds in the last year all of them w/ Titegroup.
.38 spl & .357 mag

Just got into reloading .223 rem & holy crap do I go through the powder.
a lb of Varget doesn't go very far when you're using 26 gr. vs 4 gr of Titegroup.

I am another one who tried titegroup and did not like it.

It left a nasty stain on my guns and it does not like lead bullets. As i shoot mostly lead now, it will not be replaced.

Too many good alternatives that work better with lead.

I too use it in my 40 loads with 180 gr FMJTC Zero Bullets. I experimented with a few other powders and me and some of the locals decided while very similar recoil and accuracy the TG had a little less kick and recoil. The pressure is lighter with this powder and figured the less stress on the frame the more fun I get in the long run, just my opinion.
