Anyone actually carry a hand-cannon 6" barrel revolver on a regular basis? I just bought a Bianchi X-15 shoulder holster for my 6" 686-6, and after adjusting it, it's pretty comfortable. I also have a Bianchi leather OWB holster for it as well, and it isn't bad. I will say one thing for sure. After carrying this gun for a few days, my full-size 1911 feels like a kel-tec when I carry it =)...

If you do carry these on a semi-regular basis, what kind of rig do you us? Shoulder holster? OWB? Ankle-holster? =P

How about a 5.5 inch

I carry a Colt SAA 5 1/2 inch in 45 LC fairly frequently in an El Paso Saddlery "Crosshair" holster.

Check out the holsters on the thread "Single Action Carry Holster" - some more options. Most makers will build the holster for your gun.

I occasionally carry my 6" Colt Peacekeeper in an Uncle Mikes shoulder rig. I have a Bianchi X-15 rig, but I never found that to be comfortable. The Bianchi should have the off side tie downs like the Uncle Mikes'. I conceal the cannon under a vest.

I carry my 6" 629 when out and about in the mountains and when bowhunting. I use an Uncle Mike's nylon belt holster, but on my left hip crossdraw style. If I want it to be more out of the way or les visible I use an Uncle Mike's vertical shoulder holster. It's not light, but the little bit of extra weight is comforting sometimes. Or maybe I just tell myself that, but hands down it's my most favorite gun I own, so I suppose I could be a little prejudiced in it's favor. The longer barrel isn't very handy in the truck, but you'll rarely find me without it.

Yes, all the time (usually in Uncle Mikes or custom leather OWB belt holsters):

6" Colt Official Police .38 Special

6" Model 28 Highway Patrolman .357 Mag

6" Webley MK VI .455

7.5" Ruger Old Vaquero .45 Colt
