Anyone Besides Me Like Snubs?

Thanks MikeB. I was planning on throwing standard pressure rounds downrange and maybe a cylinder or three of +p's for practice and using +p's for carry. I didn't think it would hurt it, but I thought I'd ask someone who had a 49. Thanks again.

This may be the ULTIMATE SNUBNOSE REVOLVER: :what:

;) Here are a few for you snub collectors to look at- can you name all four? It shouldn't be too hard if you know your S&Ws.

I guess you could say I like snubs pretty well, having owned many makes
aand models over the years. My current carry snub is a 79-80 vintage
Smith & Wesson model 60 "Chiefs Special" in .38 caliber. I owned 2X
of these around '73 or so; I sold both for a modest profit as they were
extremely hard to get.

omg that new Ruger snubby looks extremely menacing. Now that is one heck of a back country camping/hiking gun.

I think the recoil on that would make me cry though.

I havn't bought my Bersa 380 yet, which I plan to very soon. After I get the Bersa, I'd like to look into a snub-nose.

I'm not too sure what caliber to get it in.

What are your (as in everyone reading this) thoughts on the .38 Special, in comparison to the .357?

I have a SP101 that I plan on utilizing for CCW. (Got my qualification done, just need to get the paperwork into the Sherriff sometime this week!)
Anyway, shooting .38s through it is great fun. And I have found that 158 grain magnums are tolerable. The lighter ones, like 125 grain mags...those are unpleasant. Just a bit too sharp on the recoil. (BTW 158 Mags do about 1000fps out of the 2 1/4 barrel, the 125s around 1100)

I'd like to get a big bore snubbie. There's a nice S&W 41 mag out at Cabela's in the gun library. And now Ruger has that new SRH Alaskan. If that comes out in .480.....maybe hard to resist!

I'm currently bailing out of the J frames ( keeping them though, of course ) and into the Colt D frames so I feel comfortable using +P. Otherwise I may as well carry a 380 as a standard pressure 38 spl. from a snub.

BTW, the J's and D's are blue steel and alloy Det Spls, Cobra's, Agents and S&W Models 36, 37, 38, and 49 Steel/Airweights. No unpinned or integral locks need apply - nor stainless steel.

Here's my M-36 Square Butt and my favorite knife. I've had an '80's vintage M-36 and this one, which is considerably older. This one has a much better trigger, I must say

I like 'em. I've got a Taurus 85 and S&W 642. They're the 'go anywhere anytime no problem to conceal' firearm. :)

Did someone say SNUBS???? Ok, I can't pass an opportunity to post pics of my new twins yet again:
