They are just hitting stores now. I am waiting on a call from a store that just got them in and hasn't put them on the books yet. For the money you can't beat the gun which comes with the Sig RMR already on and zeroed in.I was looking at the Sphinx which I had inquired about, here, "as to any experiences people may have had with them". But the latest articles I have read, have been dissapointing as far as problems encountered with the Sub, and Compact models.
Some have complained about light strikes and the slide not returning to battery amoung others, which can also be attributed to it being a new firearm that takes some breaking in.
But the Sig has gotten steller reviews, and has a Red Dot already on it. I just need to see how it carries with the Dot , and the holsters available. When you ar looking in that range, 50 dollars here or there is to be expected between models, th Sphinx is being discounted lately which shows the demand slowed down.
One last pistol I wanted to try was the CZ- 10C, but one will need to wait another few weeks on that one, as none are around, and it is the least expensive of the lot, by at least a couple hundred dollars, which may make it worth waiting for.
I am looking for accuracy in an affordable gun under a thousand dollars, closer to 700. I want something that can make a 1 inch group in a vise at 25 yards, perhaps I will have to settle for 1 1/2, inches, although I have seen reports of the Sphinx doing even better than 1 inch. The Sig is supposed to make a good shooter into a great shooter, "if that is possible" But after my Cataract Surgery, I feel I can shoot like I used to, in days gone by, as my upper body strength is still good, so I want to get something that is accurate to a fault, but don't want a 22, or to spend 2-5 grand on a pistol expeiment. Plus it's my Birthday next week, so I have an excuse, lol.and getting my wife another puppy considerably more than the gun, didn't hurt either.I am definately punching above my weight class this month.
Truth be told, if I felt that neither of these guns were going to make a real difference, i would save the money and perhaps just put a dot on one of my Glocks. Before the eyes got bad, I could shoot a 1 1/2 inch group at 25 yards, with a high end revolver or auto. many moons ago.

I'm not a big Glock fan, but they are one of the easiest to add an RMR style red dot to. There is plenty of "meat" in the slide to mill it and drill and tap holes to mount the sight of your choice (runs ~$100 for the work) or the squared off slide profile makes the rear sight replacing mounts work really well, these are "reversible" if you want to return the gun to stock.

Personally I'd advise going this route to be sure red dots will really work for you before spending $700-1000 for a new red dot equipped pistol, especially if you were happy with your Glock shooting before your vision went south.

As your eyes get older shooting with open sights get harder and harder. I used to think a red dot on a hand gun was a pox, but then my eyes started letting me down. Now I have a couple of guns with red dot sights and they let you shoot up to your potential again. While I have learned to shoot fuzzy open sights OK, I can shoot much better with the red dot simply because I can aim finely again.

I recently bought an XDm OSP and put a Fastfire III 8 MOA dot on it. It's awesome for shooting accurately and even better for shooting fast using old eyes. The worse the eyes get the more I like red dots on handguns.

Either get a gun modded, or buy a new one set up for it. Not for an auto, but EGW makes a nice mount for S&W revolvers that are drilled and tapped. They are made for the more popular red dots. Remove the sight, bolt the mount to the revolver, mount the dot to the mount, and go shooting.
Plus it's my Birthday next week, so I have an excuse
Well heck, it's settled then. :)

I have the new P320 RX and love it. Very fun gun to shoot and I do notice a difference in speed just from picking it up off a table and shooting. Much quicker (for me at least) to get that first shot off. It is quite accurate... but I feel that's not exactly what it's made for. It seems to be excellent for quick draw/quick follow up shots type of stuff. More like a steels competition rather than a target shooting. It is my first gun with optics on it (because of its affordability) so I don't have anything to compare... but I really like it.

There's a picture of it with my P938... both very nice guns.
