Huh. That's right near me and I didn't know it! I may have to see about attending. :)

EDIT: Yep, less than 400 miles each way.

Ideas on places to stay? If you're in the know, I'd rather avoid $100+/night hotels (if there are any in that area, even!)

No leads yet. Was offered a backyard for pitching a tent. Will check hotels tomorrow.

Ooh, tenting in a backyard and you turned it down? Madness! :D

Damn that is tempting, its even closer to me! It is about a 2.5 hour drive.. I wouldn't even spend the night out there, just drive back and forth. PTK, see my PM!

Miami boy: we're willing to tour, but it's expensive for people to host us. On the order of $15-30k for an event in the US.

41magsub: pretty sure there are additional slots for friday/saturday HIE. It's $50, but you get to shoot 5 targets from so close you'll get dirt in your teeth.

Oleg, PTK: there's camping on site. We usually sell out the nearby hotels a couple months in advance.

Oleg: I'm in slot 1, all the way east. See you soon.

Looks like I will be staying in Moscow. Coming early and staying an extra day to do all the photos I want to get.

That will make for a punishing commute in the mornings - about 90 minutes or so each way. I may end up in Moscow, though, as that's where my kids are.

If I figure out a better way, I would. But I also have photo shoots to do in Moscow, so it won't be all bad.

I might have to check that out. A little over an hour away from Pullman, sounds like a good way to spend a day.

I'll be trying to make it out there with 41magsnub, but it all depends on my new back issues and my roommate's work schedule... :(

PTK, 41MS: you should try to make the dinner in Orofino Saturday night.

As well as the HIE Saturday afternoon.

See you there - I'm in position 1, all the way east
