Anyone else soured on .22lr?

I can't sour on 22lr, the first words out of the grandkids mouths when they come over are "Peepaw, can we shoot the guns", we bought our grandson a Ruger 10/22 for his birthday last year and bought our grand daughter a S&W M&P 22 for hers last month. The burn about a brick each visit.
Doesn't matter if it's .50 a round, the smiles and grins when they are shooting and learning are worth it, and seeing those two trying to out shoot each other is priceless, and Yes, at 50 yards, they can put them all in the bullseye, with iron site, and then they lay their targets on top of each other's to see who did better.
You can't put a price on that kind of fun and learning.
