Anyone feel... undergunned?

My wife is of the "Why do you need another one?" opinion.
When my Wife has that opinion, I ask her " Honey why do you need another pair of shoes"

I just signed on after loading 1500 rounds of .500 S&W Magnum and saw this thread. No, I don't feel undergunned.

If you like guns, you will never have enough of them.

I'm the kid of the bunch it seems. Only 6 handguns. My girlfriend likes guns just as much as I do. Fortunately for us, she doesn't buy them as often as I do. I'm averaging a gun every 2 months since last September - and I notice that seems to be increasing.

I'll never have enough. At the moment, I need a nice .22 (I like the Walther P-22), the new Sig 556 rifle, trade my 1911 in towards a Springfield or S&W 1911, a S&W 500, 625 and 627, Ruger SP-101 and GP 100, a Ruger Magnum Rifle in .350 Rem. Mag. (for hunting, eventually) and a Remington 870. A li'l more than I can afford at the moment, but still desperately needed nonetheless. :p

By time I accomplish that, I'll have another 9 or 10 guns that I need right now!

That's how it works for me, anyways.

I'm always trying to round out my collection and give me options for carry, HD and target practice. In a war zone I would feel undergunned but around the US no I think I'm about right but you can always use more.

ceetee, forget my house. I'm going to my gunstore.

Yeah, me too. Don't shoot, Larry, don't shoot! :p

No, I don't feel undergunned. I'm not in a war zone, otherwise I'd be looking mighty hard for an FAL. As it sits, though, all I really need to feel comfortable is a BHP and maybe a 1911.

While I don't have 75,000 rounds stored yet :what: (just jealous) I don't think I'm undergunned. If I can't take it out with my 50 BMG using API rounds, then I've made a grave tactical error being there.

Seriously though, you have enough when you feel you have enough. For some reason I never feel I have enough and always want more. But the key word here is "WANT". Not "NEED" mind you but, "WANT!"

One things for sure, if I keep acting on the "WANTS" I'll "NEED" a new safe to store them in. Kinda hard to convince the wife I've always had 3 safes in the basement. :scrutiny:

Good Luck

anyone else thjink of that scene in Highlander where the survivalist says (something like) " I got uzis, shotguns, a couple a big bore battle rifles and still I ain't safe"

Undergunned? Always. I always want more.

No. My family is of the opinion I am better armed than most third world countries. lol Now if you ask me, there are always new things coming out or old things of interest I would like to acquire for my collection...

Well Im still young and poor (only own 2 handguns now... sigh) and I have to think of the "Practical" guns I need....

I need a 12 gauge yet, for turkey, goose, duck, intruders etc
While I'm on the goose thought, 12 won't do, I'll need a 10 or 8 also
While driving for deer I need a lever-gun, probably 30-30...
hmm.. while I am at it a .44 mag or .357 would rock for driving, so one of each of those too.

Lets see, now for "exotic" animals I'll need some type of assault rifle, maybe an AK

And on to home defense, I suppose that 9mm won't be enough (not to mention the 12) I'll need AT LEAST a .45... sigh

Once those are all taken care of I'll need a few more 9mm's maybe a .40, a few more black powder hand guns, maybe a rifle (get that extra week of deer hunting)

Too bad my girlfriend doesn't like guns (yet).

I try to tell my wife.. guns are like jewleryand knifes are like shoes,,,just when I die sell them for what the are worth not what i told you I paid....she normally snorts and goes away..

Quoting Correia: "Nope.

When the zombies come, I'm going to be the only guy on my block with belt feds and 40mm grenade launchers. "

Yeah, my best friend is like that. All his class 3's and DD's are "corporate investments." He's cryin' the blues about being down to his last 12 cases of Portuguese 7.62x51.

Sux bein' me, but then that's not completely true...I get to shoot 'em too!!

Still, I DO occasionally feel undergunned...I don't have my Barrett 50 yet...nor my "reckless rifle."

Under-guned? I have been but I don't ever plan on being again!:p I can't take all of my gun's to the range & give each of them the attention they deserve. I can't shoot more than 2 at one time. But I can still stand to own quite a few more! :)

I think I'll finally feel adequately armed once I get a Ma Deuce, and "enough" ammunition for it.

I've spent a couple of years accumulating stuff, under the idea that I could never have too many guns or too much ammo.

Then one day I was reading a SHTF thread about "what gun(s) would you take with you if there was a catastophic man-made or natural disaster, and you had to take off ON FOOT, and you could only take the guns and ammo you could carry..."

All I could think about was all those guns and thousands of rounds of ammo I'd be leaving behind. Wouldn't that be ironic? All of that "preparation" and I could kiss it goodbye.

Am I undergunned? Not when I'm at home.
