Armybrat Well, I just wish Bud's would ship the Ruger New Vaquero I ordered last Monday. It's still sittin' in their shipping department.

Last handgun I ordered from them (early December) was on the truck in two days.

Yeah, I know... 3-7 working days.
More often than not, I get an email from Bud's: "John Doe has selected you as the FFL dealer to transfer the following firearm(s):" the day AFTER the customer picked up the gun.

Only licensed dealers and manufacturers (and certain LE) can ship firearms other than rifles or shotguns via USPS. Ordinary folks cannot.

I believe that you will also find that military officers executing their duties (i.e. ordinance officers) can also use USPS to ship handguns.

Funny thing I just discovered when I checked an FFL dealer in my area. Now I realize that these local dealers are not the ones I use. I use a dealer to RECEIVE the gun. However let`s suppose that I live in Nebraska,& want to ship my gun here to Franklin North Carolina. When I looked at some gun dealers here , I find that two of the 3 FFLs that Bud`s recommends are out of business!!So now, here I am in Nebraska Shipping my gun to a closed dealer in North Carolina . Bud`s gun shop Doesn't know that this North Carolina dealer is kaput. They still have him, or them as a preferred Receiver. Get My point?

Shipping UPS Next Day Saver to my parents house is $68.98. Bud's lists their cost as $39.

If your parents are out of State, you couldn't ship directly to them in the first place and neither could Bud's. It has to go to a FFL.

Another thing that has been overlooked on shipping via UPS. There are two choices on where you have to ship from. One is a UPS Hub, the other is to turn the package over directly to a UPS driver. You can ask for a pick-up service (which I believe they charge for) or, as I have done, just "ambush" the big brown truck on his route and hand it over.

the purpose is to get your gun from point A to point B for less than you could do it for on your own. on a side note i love buds, probably bought more than half my collection through them.

I used the service a couple of weeks ago to ship a gun I sold on GunBroker. The process was simple, quick and saved me some money. Two years ago I shipped a gun to the same state and it cost $89 (handguns are required to go UPS Next Day Air). Using shipmygun.com the total cost was $39. That's the point of the service.
