Shipping a pistol questions

The firearm is NEVER "his gun".....the dealer does not own the firearm. If he is in possession he needs to log it.

We are back to that old "possession" thing and wether the FFL dealer has to take possession in order to mail a firearm , and what constitutes the need to take possession in order to mail a handgun. :rolleyes:

Still have not read those regs have you?

I read enough to know that an FFL dealer does not have to take possession of a firearm simply becasue he touches it. (or perhaps mails it) I also read enough of the postal regulations to know they ship handguns for an FFL but have nothing to say about who's handgun it is.

You got your mind made up and that is OK by me - I just think your wrong :neener:

And with that I am done - we are drifting into an off-top chest thumping who is right or wrong and confusing the issue rather than answering it. Thanks for your opinion .

This entire thread is exhibit 1A for why the entire set of Federal gun laws and regulations needs to be distilled down to three pages or less of clear, concise, plain language, and the BATFE disbanded so its employees can all go find productive lines of work.

:banghead::neener::evil:
