Greetings

I have recently expanded my shooting endeavors to include long range. I have a TRG-42 in .338LM and I know people say "if you can afford a TRG you can afford the brass" -maybe but usually at the compromise of something else. Does anyone on THR have a good source for .338 Lapua brass (i.e. less than $3.00 a piece new or $2.00 once fired)? please let me know. Thank you for the time you've taken to read my post.

I have had the suggestion of hitting the gun shows but; I live in Alaska so gun shows are limited to seeing the same 75 vendors 6 times a year.

:pLapua is arguably the best component brass available. I use Lapua 223 match, 6.5x284 match, 308 win match and 338 Lapua and get very good results and case life from all of them.
Yes, you do pay a premium but considering the quality and longer life it's well worth it. I have never used Hornady 338LM brass so I can not offer an opinion on it compard to Lapua.

With you living in AK I suppose the shipping charges are a bit higher. Here in the lower 48 you can sometimes find it for $200ish/100.

You can reload 50BMG for the same price

Well a 750 gr Hornady Amax is going for $4 a piece:D

Given the high quality of Lapua brass, I would just pony up the money and buy it.

Unfortunately rifles chambered in .338 Lapua have the distinction of being chambered for $5 bills....

between my hornady brass and lapua brass in 338 lapua, Lapua brand is clearly better brass IMO i have picked up once fired lapua brass on Gunbroker at times for around 1.25-1.50 per piece you just have watch the auctions and be patient but it can be found reasonably.
