The prices on Six-series revolvers have gone up a ton in the last three years.
I would note that in the unlikely event that you need to have it serviced, Ruger won't do it anymore, and any smiths who are familiar with the gun will probably not have parts.
Between having having two Sp101s in 2.25 and 3 1/16, and having a Security Six in 6", I don't think I'll ever get one. But I sure do want one.
Never thought I'd say this but I'm at the age (30 going on 31 in September) and can't spend all the money I want on guns (going to be a dad next year hopefully so those parasites will get all gun money, glad I got a bunch of guns now rather than later).
I also have a couple of GP 100s (4" and 6") plus a 4" 19-4 (shooter grade thankfully as I can't bring myself to unpack my pertty ones and yes I said pertty). So I can't really justify the need for one. And I still carry my Rossi 462 2" .357.
Again though, I want one, I've shot them (a few different ones) and they've got a good balance and functionality to them. And I can still carry them in my jean pockets.
As to the above Ruger parts mention, I have found a semi-regular supply of Security/Service/Speed Six original revolver parts on GunBroker. New, used, stainless and blue.
