Probably a lot of opinions out there. I have an opportunity to add a Euroarms 44 cal Kentuckian Pistol to my collection. It's a Kentucky style pistol that looks very similar to a Pedersoli Kentucky pistol. So I can't help but wonder if the quality is similar as well. Is the lock on par with Pedersoli? I'm guessing it's a step up from a CVA, but any other info or confirmation? I don't see all that much info out there on the Euroarms.

I recently traded mine off for excessive heavy trigger pull....that said, even with the eight pound trigger pull, it was accurate. I'd put the quality right in between the CVA and the Pedersoli. IIRC, it was a Chiappa or IAB ... rebranded Euroarms.

I have a Euroarms Kentuckian pistol and it shoots well, the quality is okay. I also have a Pedersoli Charles Moors in .36 that has a set trigger, the Charles Moore is a serious target pistol but the Kentuckian is just as much fun to shoot.

Thanks for the info. I did decide to add her to the collection. Proofed in 1977 "AC" she seems to be to be better quality for the time period than most I've handled. She does show her age due to less than ideal storage conditions/ handling conditions. Some minor pitting on the outside, but the inside is better. Nice wood, and fortunately the trigger pull seems about right.

Howdy

EuroArms has been out of business for a long time. They were a house that contracted with other manufacturers to make their guns. I have a EuroArms 1858 Remington that I brought brand new in 1975. It has the EuroArms stamp on it but it was actually made by Armi San Paolo.

The Armi San Paolo marking was a D,G,G intertwined in a circle. It stood for the company founders; Grassi, Doninelli, and Gazzola.

Don't know if that is who made your pistol, but they made mine.
