Does any one have any info on Pedersoli's Le Page, Mang in Gratz or Kuchenrueter pistols? Are there any used ones out there? How could I get a Single-set trigger, or plans to make one. I've made several of the ones in"Re-creating the Kentucky Rifle" by Bivins,Buchle ,Alexander et al, it's a good trigger, but the Pedersoli one is neater. If you want a good deal on pistol barrels, check Veron C Davis' ad in Muzzle Blasts

I've been using one for a while. It is very accurate -on the order of a Smith K22 when you steady it with the middle finger on the trigger guard hook(shooting one handed).

This is the basic LePage Target that has been made and imported by Pedersoli for a couple of decades. It continues to win in the international matches.

Best loads for me have been 15 Grains of H 777 or 20 Pyrodex P or FFFG. These are in the 800 fps range and some competitive shooters say the are unnecessarily powerful. Nevertheless, they group well out to 50 yards.

The set trigger tends to get lighter as you shoot until it reache the point that the gun will not stay on full cock. When this happens, the gun is very likely to discharge whether or not your finger is touching the trigger. I have attempted to correct this with locktite but haven't shot it since and do not know whether I have salvaged the gun or not. At least one English shooter complains of the same problem.

I have some hope that the locktite fixed the problem. I just set the trigger and pulled it 125 times and it continues to work with no notable change in trigger pull.

Hi Mec! Thank you for the great shot of your Le Page.I will have to make my own, They cost over $1000 Canadian and the Mang in Gratz is nearly $2000. A tad out of my league.I can file a decent breech out and Vern Davis sold me a good barrel. I have a pair of beautiful early hammer-gun locks by Nixon of London that only need new hammers to make into percussions.[long throw, half-cock notch ]Do you know anyone who is looking for a left-hand lock?I will try Freddie Harrison at the Cascade Mountainmen's show in Monroe[Wash]for a piece of wood, but a good single-set still worries me, although I have made a few.

If it could be worked into your project, I believe Flintlocks etc will sell you a set trigger for one of the LePages or the K... The one with the long name or the Mang

Its the North American distributor for all the Pedersoli products.

Removing the set trigger adjustment screw and loading with locktite seems to have worked> I gave it about 150 dry functions and shot a good many rounds today. No change in trigger pull and no falling off full cock with the trigger set.
