I like CZ products and have several. I have never had to use their customer service as far as returning a gun for repairs. I once needed new stock screws for a rifle and they sent them to me no problems.

I am thinking about buying another CZ and wondered if I have a problem, does CZ USA send you a call tag (pick up the shipping) to return the gun?

Is their service as good as say S&W, who I think has the best CS bar none?

So I guess. bottom line is, has anyone ever sent a gun back to them and what was your experience??

If we could please keep it to that and not a debate over the guns in general.

Thanks

i bought a cz 550 american safari magnum in .458 lott. it shot fine with the open sights at the range at 50 yards and 100. i then thought i would like to put a leupold 1-4 x 20 scope on it. i could not get the scope to zero at all, after using the cz rings. i read about another indiviuals similar experience who ended up haveing to get a new barrel put on, and send it back to cz. they supposedly looked it over and sent it back to me saying all was well with the rifle and likely the scope could not handle the recoil. leupold disagreed with that assessment vehemently. i had a gunsmith go over the gun. he reamed out two sets of rings and was able to get the same scope to zero and shoot well and it continues to shoot well. there were some feeding problems and the brass would come out badly scored, but he fixed that also. so my experience was not very good. :fire:

That sound very disappointing, especially since CZ rings are not cheap and Leupold is some good glass.

Did you have to pay to ship it back to CZ or did they send you a UPS or Fed Ex call tag??

I tend to be "spoiled" by S&W service. Ruger has treated me right also.

Sent CZ a CZ82. The pistol came back working like a champ, cost was reasonable. They get good reviews over on rimfirecentral.com

Edit: They do not do email well. The phone is your best bet.

CZ service is great. They have sent me parts a couple of times for free. Once was a flat magazine brake, which they sent me when I called to ask if there was a way to make the mags drop free. The other time they sent me a firing pin when mine broke (due to dry firing w/out a snap cap several thousand times). I don't think you will have any trouble.

I have over a dozen CZ's and have had to send only one in for service. It was an early RAMI in .40 S&W. I was at least the second owner, there may have been others before, yet they repaired it for free. I paid for shipping it in and they paid to ship it back. I could have not been more pleased! YMMV

I was having some light strike issues recently with my Kadet Kit .22LR conversion unit and emailed CZ. After a few days I got a reply answering my questions. I went back and forth several times with them to clarify things. They were a big help and even gave me a number and extension to call if I needed.

OCD1;

I also have several CZ guns, but only had one with a problem that required sending it in. I paid to send it to them, they paid the return. The work needed was done under warranty without cost to me, and done in a timely fashion. But, they screwed up the return address & damn near lost the gun into a large commercial building in city center.

So, I have mixed feelings.

People actually worry about this stuff?

I don't "worry" about it but it is something to consider when purchasing a New gun. I usually buy used ones. If you are lucky to have a FFL that will ship it for you, then its $10-20 dollars for them to send it by USPS priority mail.

If you are an individual (non licensee) then you are required to send it with common carrier (UPS or Fed EX) and they, not the BATF require you to send it at the minimum two day air for close to $50 to $60 dollars.

So take your pick. I'd rather not have to pay that kind of money for a warranty repair. SW, Ruger, heck Kel Tec will pay for the shipping.

Fortunately every CZ if owned never had a problem. With all the brands out there, if I am going to buy a new one I pay real close attention to Customer Service.
Buy a Bersa or Taurus and you will spend more on shipping then the gun cost.

So did I. At the time I got it, it was a GREAT price.

I have to admit that, after buying it, it never occured to me to have CZ involved ever again. Given the price, I expected it to be rough, and it was.

There were several things I didn't like about it, and I eventually involved three different gunsmiths :)o) to get things right. Such is the price of a dependable dangerous game rifle. That was easy to do as the rifle's design hasn't changed much--except the safety direction--from the BRNO days; and not much since the Mauser days, either!

It performed perfectly, in extensive practice and in the actual hunts.

(I have no experience with their handguns.)

I bought a CZ-720 second hand. After I huntes with it for a few years, I noticed a crack in one piece of the bolt (auto loader 20 ga). I called them about it, and they said to ship it to them. They not only fixed the broken part for free, but sent a replacement fron stock because mine was cracked from my brother's double barrel 10 ga fell on it. They shipped it back on their dime, even!
