I am wondering about the viability of this gun. What does the ammo cost?

Twenty rounds of super fast 22 caliber in a safe action intrigues me.

I had a FiveseveN IOM for a while. I got lucky and found some ammo for $18 per box of 50. Not too bad, considering that the SS192 hollowpoint round is a duty round. It's about the same price as the good Federal or Corbon JHPs in other calibers.

It's very light, the exterior with the exception of the sights is completely enclosed in plastic. So if you are worried about corrision from sweat it's a plus. Good single action trigger, the front sight is huge. The Klinton 10 round mags are a liability. Get the 20 rounders if you can.

The 10 rounders are a terrible design with the floorplate held on with 2 plastic tabs. These are weak and you can end up with all your ammo popping out the bottom of the handgun at the worst moment. It happened to me once at the range, at first I thought I had kaboomed because ammo went flying everywhere. But it was just the magazine breaking.

Load on Sunday

and shoot all week. Easy to shoot and accurate. Ammo costs a pile and is not common. Trigger is excellent. Have no idea how effiective as a defense round. Probably really cheap to reload; I'm guessing Li'l Gun, 2400, 4227 or something like that.

Actually, seems a lot like a .22 K-Hornet handgun.

I bought one recently. Khornet doesn't think it would knock anyone down and will stick to his rusty Para .40 that jams every 4th round. :neener:

I argue that I have a better chance of hitting the guy between the eyes on the first shot because there is virtually no kick to this gun. So, reacquiring the target should be a lot easier with the FiveSeven.

It is very smooth, the trigger action is excellent and bullet velocity is over 2000 fps. 20 in the chamber is an interesting concept too. Mine came with three 20 round magazines.
