Px4's, in general

...

Almost..lol

I've had a Beretta Px4 40 for nearly 3yrs now and have had excellent, ongoing, flawless, reliability and dependability with it, not to mention, accurate, easy, balanced, natural, fall-back-target, quick, follow-up shots with accuracy..

Having been, also, a member over in the Beretta Forum, owners of 9mm's and 45's have had the same experience through 1000's of rounds..

Given that the rotating barrel does add to the_balance of a polymer framed gun much like weight does for tilt up barrel, design, such as my all metal Sig P229/40, making them soft shooters, very forgiving of one handed or weak hand shots, as well, I'd say IF you like how it feels, weight, balance, point to aim, and round count (nice) you will not be disappointed IMHO

Adding a Hogue full fingered rubber slip-on-sleeve (very thin) also aids in maintaining same grip action and aids, considerably, with wet conditions be it rain, sweat, etc..

I'm not a big fan of the polymer framed gun concept, other than, my one exception was a Px4 and I have not been disappointed thru nearly 9000 flawless rounds with my 40cal.

You will need to put the sights ON the target as opposed to most other guns 6 o:clock sight picture. You can change this with adding night sights, slightly less tall than what they come with if that is an issue or become comfy with it, as is, as I have done along with many others with other handguns that sight differently as mentioned.

It has earned my trust without doubt..

A good friend has a Px in .45ACP...He swears by it. He sent the slide to trijicon for NS and now he likes it even more.

I do not mind polymer guns, I have many, as well as alloy and all metal. I'm a equal opportunity gun buyer:) With all the brands and calibers I do not have a Beretta. I just could not come to buy a 9mm 92. Just too large for my hands,

I have one (a PX4 .45), and I love it. As previously mentioned, the rotating lug barrel makes recoil very manageable. The fit and finish is superb; it doesn't rattle, nothing is loose, all the parts fit together nicely (made in Italy, home of the Ferrari). Mine came with the Trijicon night sights, so I can't speak to the accuracy of the factory sights. I have found, though, that mine has a tendency to pull left (or, I should say, I have a tendency to pull my shots left with it). That said, it makes a ragged hole at 15 yards from a Weaver stance. I shoot mostly 230-grain FMJ, and I've never had a single malfunction with those. As for defense loads, I had one feed error with Speer Gold Dot 230-grain +p JHP. I've used Federal Hydra Shok 185-grain and Remington Golden Saber 230-grain JHP with much success. I'd like to try the Speer again before I rule it out in this gun.

One added benefit to the PX4 is that it is very similar functionally to the Beretta M9, which I qualify on in the USAF. Same safety/decocker, same Beretta trigger, DA/SA, very familiar in general.

So what I'm saying is that I love my PX4, and I recommend that you get one also!

I have one, what do you want to know?
Basically what everyone is saying.:D Mainly how accurate they are. I would imagine they are reliable and function well. Would they match a Sig 220 for accuracy with the same ammo and shooter?

It will certainly match the 220 for accuracy, mine is as accurate as my STI Spartan.

Random thoughts: I love the DA pull, but I wish it were a tad shorter. I want to convert mine to the de-cocker version at some point. I'm a little concerned about the thinness of the polymer frame. It is significantly thinner than say a Glock or an XD, but time will tell if it is an issue. There are some small fragile parts inside that I'm not too wild about. I've already bent a spring during cleaning. It hasn't affected the function of the pistol, but when is the last time you were able to bend a spring with a plastic brush? So typical for Beretta, there are things I dig and things I don't.

Well said, i completely agree. My 9mm has been 100% reliable since i bought it in 2006.

I am going to the gun shop today to "fondle" one a bit today:D

See if I bond with it.
