Thefumegator recently posted a thread asking for assistance in dealing with some apparently emotional issues revolving around guns. He used to post quite frequently and doesn't anymore. As someone that offered assistance I am hoping that he is ok and has been in contact with someone else. The issues are personal and obviously none of our business but I was curious if anyone has heard from him? Thanks, Mike

Carpetbagger is right, he made a few posts yesterday. I would hope everything is okay, and I see what you mean, he went from posting a lot everyday to only a dozen or posts over the last week.

He's a good guy, I wish I had a way to get a hold of him, but I lost his phone #.

This is what why I love this message board so much. I can't stop saying that. The people here are so caring over those they have never even met. This common interest that we have bonds us so tightly, that we care without having to know the person. Because we know they would do the same for us. Between posts like this, and what just happened with THR helping out one of the poster's so he wouldn't have to sell th repro 1911 he got for his, I'm just proud to be a part of this board. (Sorry, I'll stop being so mushy) Someone get me a beer. :D

He was a bit hard on himself. I really like his sense of responsibility. A desire for maturity is rare these days. I am glad to call that young man my friend. I have had similar stresses. I am a Republican, my mother is a yellow dog Democrat!:what:

I know what you mean and feel your pain. I've always enjoyed reading thefume's posts... seems like a pretty level headed squared away chap. Hope all is well in his life.

I am truly touched and flattered.

Yes, I'm still around. Work has been rough. It's been long hours and people I can't stand.

The issues that I just needed to get off my chest are still there... they're not getting better, but a few people are trying to help me cope. I appreciate all of the help I have recieved from the THR family.

I also apologize to those whom I haven't had a chance to reply to... I need to take some time (if I ever get some) and reply to you all. The care that has been conveyed by you all is very touching.

I hope that I didn't alarm anyone... some people contacted me with concern that I may be contemplating suicide. Other than being a little discouraged and having trouble dealing with RKBA and age & status, etc., I assure you all that I'm still plugging along.

Thanks to you all. Man, I love THR. :)

Wes

EDIT: For anybody that's confused or curious, I've been having trouble with my living conditions (ie, parents) and gun ownership/use/storage. Complicated arrangement. Then, on top of that, Will M. (Kentucky Rifle on THR) died. I just felt a bit overwhelmed. Naturally, I still miss Will, but I am content that he is in a better place. The gun/parent situation remains, and will until I move out. Hard to deal with... but I'm working with it.

Wes, good to hear you are doing okay. We all have troubles like this in our lives. It's part of what makes like interesting. The situations can not be changed or averted, once they are already there, it is our ability to change our perception of the situation that helps us move forward.

If you ever want to chat, let me know. (I know the feeling of dealing with parents very well, my desire to own firearms was a major factor in me leaving home. and is still a major factor in why my father and I do not get along as well as I would hope).

Wes,

I'm glad to hear things are going alrite with you. Even more so with the migraines you experience, same as me. Sometimes with the pressures of life, the migraines ruin my day COMPLETELY, but we still gotta be tough and stick through it.

I'm hoping things come along for you. If you need any more assistance or just someone to talk to, feel free to PM me.

Wes, you get two thumbs up from me.

It's good to see this kind of thread and I believe it's necessary to ask about people who might have signs, whether they be unintentional false signs or not, of contemplating suicide. I'm a member of another message board where an active, well-liked member recently committed suicide. It really shocked everyone and I don't know if there's anything we could have done. The board was such a part of his life that he left a note asking his brother to post to everyone there.
