hello all,

I’m wondering if anyone on THR is located near SW Missouri.

I have met up with a couple members a few years back when I lived near Kansas City.

I have since divorced the X, remarried and moved. I now haunt my own little slice of heaven in SW Missouri near Branson.

We just moved about 4 months ago and purchased a small piece of property in the middle of nowhere (18 acres) to get the children out of the city and show them what country living is all about. So far so good...

I thought it would be interesting to connect with other THR members and chew the fat or whatever.

Dave

Congrats on your move Dave, I used to live next door in Kansas. But when I moved I kept going until I almost ran out of the country. Living here in sw Florida is sooo tough. I don’t have to do snow anymore and that makes me very happy.

Hi Dave, I lived half of my life in and around Joplin. As kids, my parents would take us to Silver Dollar City about once a year.
There are a couple THR members that I know of down your way, I'm sure there are more. I haven't seen them post recently.

I'm in Brookline just outside Springfield. I used to go to the range at Buicek State park off of 65. I now go to Andy Dalton range in Ash Grove. I still go back to the first range periodically. And D. is 16 mi. and Buiucek is 30 from me so you see why I go 16 mi. The one by 65 is an open range and has three stations and a little hard to get on the pistol side most times. Andy Dalton is the best, $3.00 free targets, 20+ stations, skeet range and archery range.

Up in KC....ish.

Really more Warrensburg, but no one knows where that is.

Hi neighbor. Springfield.

The cowboys have you surrounded. There are two cowboy action clubs just north of you (Bear Creek Volunteers have a match today) one just outside Marshfield, others in Cassville and Mt. Home, Arkansas, in case those types of guns appeal to you.

"The cowboys have you surrounded..." WAY COOL! OP, I live in the bootheel around Sikeston. Your side of the State is MUCH better. My God, this place is like Arkansas..... We have a Walmart you would not believe. It's scary in there.

Sorry everyone, I got crazy busy and haven’t had a second to get back to this thread.

I’m outside of Galena, between Galena and Reeds Spring. If anyone wants to get together pm me for address. I’m always up for a get together with THR members.

Dave

Your story sounds a bit like mine. I anticipate moving to north-central Arkansas in about a year. Naturally, my guns are coming with me.

Also known by some as "Almost Arkansas, Missouri.." ;)
I'm up in the "Free State", NE Kansass.

I lived over by West Plains for years. I still hunt over there, but live near Muskogee Oklahoma.
You're in some beautiful country.

50 miles north of Springfield, Flemington (pop 100) address, 10 miles east

We will be getting together with some of the wife's family in Springfield at the end of October. The wife and I will be staying in Branson, but will make sure to visit the Bass Pro mother-ship at least once. We get that way once or twice a year.

Interesting tidbit, my wife's great-great-grandfather died in Santa Fe, NM, just up the road from us while serving with the 3rd Regiment of Missouri volunteers during the Mexican American War. We just discovered this earlier this year. He was from Greene County, but we don't know exactly where. His death was recorded in the Santa Fe Republican the month he died, but his family did not learn of his demise until the following year when his regiment returned, and his death was then noted in the Springfield newspaper.

Oh, and after visiting the bootheel, I like the Lamberts near Sikeston better than the one south of Springfield.

Dave, are you north or south of the Galena curves?
