Anyone here still shoot after coronary bypass?

My father was back to shooting heavy .338 Win Mag loads about 4-6 months after his triple bypass and attending staph infection resulting in removal of most (~75%) of his sternum.

This May, about 4 years after, I gave him a Marlin 1895GS in .45-70, and he loads it rather hot. The other day, he just bought a .375 H&H, and has enjoyed shooting it. He's decided to standardize on the 275g loadings, I believe.

Bruce, while I know this is anecdotal, I can also tell you that my dad hit the lottery for REALLY BAD complications from his bypass. The man still shoots high power rifle on a monthly, if not weekly basis. Your own surgery is far more likely to involve fewer problems.

While you're laid up, you can get some extra reloading done in anticipation.

Soon as you can, get back up on your feet, and get moving. Stay moving. Come back to us, friend. :)
