Anyone Hunt with Remington Managed recoil

I bought a 7mm08 for my son to hunt with this year. Since it's a 5.5# gun I picked out the Remington Managed recoil stuff. I don't know about half the recoil but it cut it down a bunch.

I sighted it in with Fusion 140's @50yds, then shot the Remington stuff and it was pretty much dead on.

Since it was for a 7yo I never tested it past 50 yards. FWIW he took a button buck quartering away this evening, the deer didn't go 20 yards before piling up.

I used it for my wife in 270. The recoil is really reduced. I'd say it shot with around 243 recoil, maybe even less.

However, she took a buck with a perfect shot right through the boiler room at 80 yards. He piled up within about 90 yards, but not but a drop of blood until where he dropped. Looked like the bullet didn't really expand at all, little hole in and out. Not sure if it was just a bad experience, but never tried them on another deer after that.

The box has the trajectory difference on it. Inside it's effective range of 200 yards (270Win), it's not that far out at all.

Last year my brother took a nice 8 point buck with a 30-06 shooting the 125gr Remington Managed Recoil loads. I would think as long as you are not shooting long distances that they will work just fine.

RJfunk is correct, much the same results we experienced....little hole in little hole out, all the bleeding internal. Never cared for the core lokt bullets in anything I've ever used them in.
