I just saw an ad in American Hunter for new "Hex" cartridges made in .45 acp for the Taurus wheelgun. Does anyone know if they would work in an auto? What are the advantages/disadvantages of a 99% copper bullet?
If I had some land in the country it would be great to not foul the land with lead. But at MSRP of $19.95 for a box of 20 .45's they can bite me! I'd mine, smelt, and load my own before I paid that much.
OK, they expand and penetrate well... from what range? I can't find that info on the page posted. I've gotta believe the loss of density would have some effect on ballistics. 185 grains of copper would be larger than 185 grains of lead.
