MKS supply the maker of the hi-point pistol gets highlighted in the brady center article on how the NRA hurts the ATF:http://www.bradycenter.org/xshare/pdf/reports/criminals-best-friend.pdf

In the article they give an example of the president of MKS supply, the maker of the hi-point selling guns by the hundreds to obvious straw buyers at gun shows. Don't gun dealers need to file a "suspitious activity report" if one buyer buys more than x guns in a single transaction? what happened here?

I don't know what happened, but I wouldn't trust anything the Brady Bunch had to say...

Anyway, any FFL that sells more then one handgun to an individual within a one week period has to file a report of the transaction with the BATF&E.

My guess is that the Brady Campaign is simply extrapolating from the police records of siezed guns.

Inexpensive ones always top the lists, and Hi-Point is always on them.

It's simply a long winded variation of the "Too Cheap" anti-gun argument.
