I've been to two different Walmarts now and saw this. It says 9mm Luger on it and appears to be 50 round boxes in orange and black boxes. No one was behind the counter today for me to ask and the other day someone was busy. I didn't see any obvious logo's or brand names on it from what I could see. Anyone know what this stuff is? Any good? How much does it go for? I didn't see a price on it either?

It's RWS ammunition. I'm told it's from Switzerland. My local Wallyworld has it for $16 and change a box. 124 grn FMJ is what I saw.

Now that you say that I'm thinking I did make out RWS on it I just had never heard of them. Is it good ammo or crap? Isn't $16 kind of expensive when the Federal is $10 a box and WWB is $21 for 100 rounds. Or is that a lot better ammo?

I'm sure it's quality ammunition, but keep in mind it's imported, probably doesn't have the production volume of WWB, and Walmart apparently brought it to have at least something on the shelves, so they probably don't have a long term contract with RWS or a distributor for this ammunition. Those factors are going to lead to a higher price.

I wouldn't know if it's better ammunition, but it might be higher quality. I have no issues with WWB myself, and since I snagged some WWB, I do not feel the need to purchase any RWS at this time. Also, the local gunshops are selling WWB at a higher price than Walmart does, so I'd get the RWS before gunshop priced WWB.

I bought 5 boxes because

a) from what I have seen (which isn't much down here) $16 a box is a good price.
b) as stated above, I've never seen a $10 box of anything other an .22LR at a walmart here.

oh and RWS makes EXCELLENT air rifles and they also make match grade .22 ammo.

I picked up 2 boxes at Wally World today. Yes, it's RWS, which is part of Dynamit Nobel. Swiss. Here is their website. Sounds like pretty good stuff.

RWS Ammo

I keep hearing about all this $10 Federal, and $21 WWB at Wally World, but it appears that someone here (North of Seattle) is hogging it all up when it comes in. I haven't seen any pistol ammo here in Wally World for months whenever I stop in to the local stores. This RWS was the first I've seen in a long time.

That's the price in southern VA-I've stocked up on the Federal 50rd $9.97 boxes. WWB is $12.97/50rds, and $21/100rds. It's not going to be on the shelf every day, but it's not too difficult to catch a decent supply on hand.

Got a friend that just bought an XDSC9 which is spot-on AFA accuracy with everything he's tried except the WWB he recently picked up at WalMart-dunno what's going on there?

I was just at wallyworld and they had the orange and black 50 rd 9mm boxes for 16.47 for 50. Not much of a deal when the 100 rd box of WWB next to it is 20.97. Fortunately for me local L.E. uses mostly 40 cal so any citizen in my area that owns a gun thinks they have to have 40 cal to. That leaves lots of 9mm for me almost every time I go to wallyworld. 380 ammo, now thats another story.

I bought two boxes to try it out. It is the least expensive 124 grain I have found. Most around here is around $20 a box.

I'm hoping it will make my BHP cycle a little better.

Just got back from a local WallyWorld where they have Federal 9mm for $9.47, Remington Green box for $11.47. and the RWS for $16.47. Haven't seen any WWB at this store (and they have always been pretty well stocked through the whole ammo shortage period). I picked up 4 boxes of the Federal; might try a box of the RWS when they run out of the less expensive ammo.

i stopped back at Walmart at lunch today. They had another 40 or so boxes of the RWS but still no WWB or Federal.

Guys, if you don't have a location on your profile, telling us you stopped at your local store tells us nothing about pricing around the nation. NW AR it was $16.99 tonight.

Best thing I ever did was get into reloading. I did it recently, spent $475 over the course of 2.5 months and now have thousands of rounds of 9mm, .38spl, 7.62x39 and 7.62x54r....

I have thankfully, not been in a Walmart for ammo in over 2.5 months :)

I tink I posted location in the other thread...sorry, I've been checking walmarts here in south florida.
