Anyone load MBC 125 gr smallball in .380?

I've gone through my 500 pulled Speer TMJs from RMR, and I have some MBC smallball that's sized too small (.356") for my .357" bore 9mms. Has anyone used this in .380? Lyman manual has a .380 load for 120gr LRN, but I haven't found one for 125. Think it could work? Stupid idea?

What gun? More then likly stupid idea.

I had trouble with 115gr.

If you can seat them short enough to fit in the magazine?
And that doesn't bulge the case at the bullet base so they won't chamber?
And you don't blow yourself up with too much powder?

Gofer It using the 120 grain Lyman load data.

Lyman lists cast bullets like they drop from the mold. (as cast)
Size and add the lube and it's very near a 125, if it is the same alloy they used.

I'll think about it, thanks. Some of my brass has the crimp/groove halfway down the case and even the 95 gr TMJs get snug on those sometimes. King, what trouble'd you have with the 115s?

My primary .380 is a SIG P230. I also have an LCP but mostly shoot my defensive carry stuff for occasional practice in that.

Most of the cases bulged in the unsupported chamber of the TCP. If it would work the slide then it would buldge the cases.

You have to remember, most 380s use a straight blowback action, so they don't adapt nearly as well to varying loads as locked breech actions. Putting a heavier/slower bullet in will allow the slide to move a lot more before the bullet exits the barrel, putting more pressure on areas of the case not made to take it.

It may work just be careful. I wouldn't buy them to try but since you already have them I would try.
