I got out of reloading about a year ago (not because I wanted to) and now I need a handfull of rounds that arent comercialy available. If someone would be willing to load me 20-40 rounds of 7.62x54R it would help out greatly. I'm not looking for anything too hot...just a 150gr SP in the 2800fps range.
If anyone would be willing to do this please let me know (deer season is fast approching) how much you would charge. I will supply the brass.
Thanks
Jason

S&B and Winchester make 180 gr SP ammo but I only see Norma in 150 gr SP and it's $36 for a box of 20. I can see why you are looking for other sources. Surplus isn't going to be any good for hunting. Well, I don't have the dies so I'm not going to be any help. Good luck in your ammo hunt for your deer hunt :)

For the record, reloading or handloading new components for sale to another requires a federal license to be legal. However, it is legal for you to send or give all of the components to an individual to load for you and pay them for their labor.

It is a frivolous difference but that is the law.

has a 20 pack of 7.62x54R loaded with a Ballistic tip bullet for $21

Another alternative is to take some of your surplus ammo and pull the bullets and replace them with hunting projectiles. I have done this with great success for the 7.62x39 and the 7.62x54R ... in fact now that I think about it, EVERY single one of my successful pig hunts has been with this style bullet! Since you aren't dealing with primers or powder, all it takes is a set of dies ($17) and a Lee hand press (another $17) ... less than $50 total for the equipment setup and no dedicated space. It might be worth considering.
