Bought a pound of this a few weeks ago after reading many positive reviews . So far , I've only obtained slightly better than average results using it in 223 loadings . I've tried with 55 and 60 gr ballistic tips , 68 and 69 gr HPBT loading . Best load to date is with 23.3 XBR topped with a 69 MatchKing going .850 in a 223 chambered 16" 1 in 9 bull AR . This is very close to the max listed with IMR . I did not see any signs of pressure issues at this level . Any one else work up a good one with this new powder ?

Haven't tried it myself, but one of the guys I shoot Highpower with picked up 8-lbs of it at Camp Perry. He said it's OK for short line (200-300 yard) loads but he doesn't like it for 600 yard ammo. From the data I've seen and his comments, it seems you can't get as much velocity out of the heavy bullets in the .223 case. It seems like it's more suited to lighter bullets in this case IMO.

I just loaded 20 rounds 223 with 77 gr. sierra. Max listed 23.3gr I started with 22.0gr. I did'nt want to start with the max load, because the bullet is seated so deep into the shell. I hope it's enough powder to cycle the gun... I've tested 8208 in my 308 and it seems to be the only powder that gun likes...
