Anyone make a shirt/jacket cut like BDU's, but fewer/no pockets for a cover garment?

I really like the feel and weight of the heavy polly/cotton BDU short sleeve shirts, long sleeve shirts, and jackets for cover garments throughout the year, but the problem is they look like..well BDU's. I dont need all those pockets which is why I currently done use them for this ccw. Does anyone make them with fewer pockets so that I can wear one without looking like Im playing army commando? I dont want camo, just khaki, blue, or black would do.

Any suggestions??

you have any idea how heavy they are? Im looking for something that is heavy enough not to blow around in light breezes/wind. something that feels more like a cheep poly/cotton jacket so its more stiff and moves less...if that makes any sense. That shirt looks about perfect, but may be too light weight...hard to tell from looking though.

I have one of those and the weight is perfect its 60% poly / 40% cotton, problem is I got an XXL (one size bigger than I usually wear) and its to small in the chest and arms, rather than order something from Israel again I figured I would try to order from the states so sizing isnt so different. Besides its going to be fall soon and I'll need a long sleeve too. If I could find something with the weight and feel of a Shabak in long sleeve I would be thrilled.

It depends on your build, if my arms and shoulders werent big then an XXL would fit fine when I normally where an XL. I would say that if you are not built like a weightlifter then your ok ordering one size up, but if you have pretty big arms and shoulders for you size than I would order 2 sizes up, but thats only on the israeli shirt, and I got mine from zahal.org, which I really like to deal with because they have great communication. Oh and another thing, if you are not lean, these are not going to be good shirts for you, they are definitely cut for someone who is eaither skinny or in shape, they will not fit right on someone who has any sort of gut.

What part of the world do you live in? Or at least what is the dominant climate range you have in mind?

Im actually all over the place, I travel nationally on a weekly basis so I need to be covered on all fronts. I like the "cheaper" heavier twill fabrics generally though because they are more stiff and tend to react less to wind and breeze if I have them unbuttoned.

Are there any other places that sale this type of shirt but in long sleeve? I work outside and with winter approaching im going to need a light jacket.

Also, I noticed that this company sells a shoulder stock for a glock..is that legal..

Thats why I created this thread, if I could find one of these in long sleeve I would be thrilled.

As far as the stock for the Glock, I dont see why it wouldnt be legal, handguns are more restricted than long guns.

A shoulder stock for a pistol is generally illegal in the USA. It might could be matched with the Glock and registered (and taxed) as a short barrelled rifle, but it will take an expert in gangster guns to say for sure.

Wow that sounds even to dumb for the atf. A handgun becomes bigger, less concealable, with no more firepower due to a stock and its an SBR? I never heard of that one before. Anyway, I dont want to get this thread off topic, I really want to find a cover garment.

Some of the better lightweight 100% cotton or poly-mix jackets have a drawstring at the waist. I have a Tenson (sweden) jacket like this. You can keep it tied with plenty of slack at the waist - a bow of half bow comes open quickly, or you can do the Hackathorn rip (liftiing the hem up high) with the weak hand to draw.

The cheaper jackets - some not so cheap - might be the workmen's type. Maybe Dickies or Carhartt. Something like the Carhartt Duck Chore coat. But most of these are heavily lined - the Chore coat is blanket lined. Their heavy cotton canvas (9oz) shirt Jac bought extra large might work.

For fall, spring, winter and in many places even summer I could suggest wax cotton. The better makers (read expensive) offer different weights of cotton - usually classed light, medium and heavy. A light or medium weight with a light lining is still heavy enough not to lift easily in a breeze.

I have a very nice shooting jacket with two lower front pockets and two of the "handwarmer" type pockets. It's cut and features are typical of the "tweed and welly" crowd in the U.K.; the sort of thing many wear doing everthing from bird/clay shooting, golf, horse riding to sitting in pubs. I bought it on the evilBay from a U.K. seller for about $50. Think the airmail was another 50, but for 100 bucks it's a fine jacket. It is made by a primarily equestrian orientated firm, Campbell Cooper - similar to Barbour.

The only other suggestion is foreign surplus; I recall seeing some c.1950s surplus field jackets (think swede or norway) that only had two front lower pockets. Check sportsmansguide.com etc or the evilBay.
