What with all the many CAS replicas out there, maybe this exists now.... Like a Super Blackhawk - the one with the UN-fluted cylinder in .44 mag, except NOT a Ruger, and in .45 Colt, with about a 5" bbl (but with the fully adjustable sights like the Blackhawk). I love that unfluted cylinder.

Don't know if it's in your budget, but Freedom Arms has just what you describe. A Model 97 .45 Colt with an unfluted cylinder, a 5.5" barrel and adjustable sights.

Ooooh, yeah, that'd be just right - I could swing it if I saved up; thanks! Actually I wanted a slightly smaller frame but beggars cannot be choosers I guess.

P.S. Difference between a model 83 and model 97??

Having never fondled one, I don't know how much bigger the Model 97 is than a SAA. Others can probably offer some thoughts. Between a 97 and an 83, though, the 97 is the smaller of the 2.

I'd love to have the excuse to buy one of their revolvers. One day...
