Those are a really nice stock that does the automatic bedding and whatnot. The catch is the price, $600 for the base model (no rail or comb riser like that one) and the accessories will cost you.
I agree the JAE stock is really made for a full length DMR type rifle. Like H2Oman said the Troy stock is really best for a SOCOM or even the Sage. The Troy is a pretty slick system though.
ok that looks MUCH better. The socom II looks fugly to me (to each their own) and the socom I eh its alright, I'd definitely take one. That is a sexy stock though. Seems perhaps inappropriate for such a short rifle (why not for the full sized M1a or the scout?). Either way, I'd like one.... just not at that price.
But if one was to buy a Remington 700 and stick it in that stock, what would be the most accurate model for a reasonable price (consider I would be tossing the factory stock). Does remington make a accurate heavy barrel in a cheap stock?
SAI whitefeather is a rip off plus they take your iron sights away from you. One would be better off with an SEI Crazyhorse build on an LRB M25 receiver with built in scope mount.
E-mailed the customer support at JAE and they said the rem 700 stock are still in pre-production and they will be making a short and long action stock when they start shipping.
The SOCOM is a Springfield M1A with a 16.25" barrel and a proprietary comp that until recently could not be replaced
with a flash hider or muzzle brake. The SOCOM also has an enlarged rear peep and a not so sturdy front sight post.
The SCOUT and SOCOM use the same optic rail mounted to the barrel and they both use the same hand guard with cut-out.
