I've been putting off buying an AR-15 for a while but it's happening this year.
Being an AR novice and there being probably a hundred different people making AR's it's really over whelming looking for one.
My purpose will be home defense followed by varmints.
I like the side charging handle on the 2 Vets and the fact the company is operated by Veterans. However that's all I have. Can't find any real reviews other than Colion Noir shoots one.
I've also looked at the different MOE models offered but they all seem the same. Like the Smiths and the Sigs. My local Scheels sells Rock River but I've heard they are way too heavy.
I looked at a Christianson and by far that's my favorite but I'm not going to drop 3K on any firearm.
I want a high performance rifle but around $1500.

Never heard of them, but if it is what you want go for it. In your price range there are several solid rifles available. S&W, RRA, Colt are all available in that range just to name a few. Or, for that money build your own and get exactly what you want.

I held one in 6.8 SPC, at Academy of all places. It was nice but I thought a little overpriced. Not a lot of side chargers to choose from though, so if that is what you want, it may be priced appropriately.

Is there an "ar-15's" for dummies available?
Colt sure seems solid, I've been looking at these too. Daniel and Stags as well.
