Just found out recently that Ruger is making the No.1 in 460, I have been looking for a rifle in that caliber. I don't handload much and you can shoot 45LC, 454 Casull, & 460 in it. So everything from cowboy loads for plinking & small game to near 45-70 performance with 460 heavy loads all with factory ammo.

The 460/200 grain loads from Hornady or CorBon should be doing 2600-2700 from the rifle which would allow 200 yard zero easy.

Ruger has No.1 in .475 Linebaugh/.480 Ruger and H&R/NEF has handi rifle in 500 S&W.

Well the 460 from 8-10" revolver is similar trajectory to 35 rem from 20" rifle/carbine.

200 grains at 2300 or same as 7.62x39/123 loads from AK.

From 16-18" closed barreles ie no BC gap the 460/200 grain factory loads run 2600+ which is equal or better than 30 06 from 24" barrel.

From 22 barrel the 460 with 275 DPX loads should run almost as fast as 35 whelen does with 250 premium bullets.

Plus you have 45LC for light loads.
