Yes...tis thicker!
When I needed a DA or DAO handgun for a security gig, I checked out several good .45's......since I could not carry my prefered Colts.
The HK USPc, the Sig 245, and the ParaOrd LDA Companion. I wanted the smaller handguns so I could use it for CCW at a later date.
The HK I was able to put acouple of hundred rounds through(my cousins) and it was thick, the trigger was very wide(so my second shot on single action went off faster than I expected after the first DA round because I was engaging the trigger sooner). The mag release was, well, not to my liking. It felt OK, functioned fine, and I was not as accurate with it...though I would have learned it....as my Colt.
I was tempted to get the Sig 245, but chose the Para LDA as it was minimal investment of accessories, and my LW Officer's could serve as a BUG using the same ammo outta the same mags with the same feel and operation and same holsters!
Two years later, the Para has been superb, my security gig is coming to a close and the Para will be a CCW.......be making more money too, so another .45 auto will find its way into my collection in the next couple of months.....
....it won't be a HK USPc!!
