I wàs looking into getting the new remington AR-30 cartridge for the AR-15 plateform, but was not really excited about the velocitys being achieved. They are similar to the venerable 7.62x39... Then, Hornady came out with there steel cased performance ammo for 7.62x39 and 5.45x39. I am very interested in knowing the performance's of the Hornady ammo. If it is really good, it would allow for cheap plinking as well as having good accuracy loads availible. Also, does anyone know if hornady is loading this ammo with .308 caliber or .311 caliber bullets?? Thanks guys, brian.

Side note.. I am aware of the mag issues with 7.62x39 ammo and the AR-15 platform.

I haven't any experience with it, but I am darn near positive it is loaded with .310cal. bullets. Judging by their other fodder it should perform nicely if your rifle shoots it well.

:)

I load the bullet in brass and it makes an AK much more accurate. I'll be trying them in the 7.62x39 ar Im building.
