Can't find any Bullseye but 700X is available around here. Seems to have a similar burn rate as Bullseye. I previously tried a slower powder (Universal) but the results were not good. Is 700X a good option for 380?
Anyone use 700X for 380 ?

Lee manual shows a couple of 380 loads using 700x. Lyman 48th has 700x as an option for almost all the bullet weights they list. I don't own a 380 so can't comment on the efficacy of 700x usage. Titegroup is shown a lot and it looks like 700x is close in burn rate (one notch above Titegroup in Lyman book).
I was looking at using 700x for 9mm Makarov as Lyman shows it the 'potentially most accurate load' with a 95gr bullet.

I have a metric butt load of 700-X i got years ago---kegs of it. I use it in most handgun rounds if it has any OK data. The big thing is that this particular flake propellant meters poorly with small charges. In 380, 32 S&W, 9MM etc. it works OK ifyou can meter it. I have made custom scoops/dippers to use when loading small charges. Now I have less heartburn when loading it.
It does burn quite clean and is the best choice for my 45 ACP 230 grain LRN ammo I have ever found. YMMV

I've used 700X for .380 when 231 wasn't available. It worked great...no problems. I would use it again.

700x works great in the smaller handgun calibers. It is one of my favorite powders. I have not had any metering problems with my Dillon 550b powder measures. Charge weights are consistent.
This is one powder that I purchase the 8lb container when I find it on the shelf at the LGS. Good for pistol and shotgun.

Hmmm, I may have to go grab a can from Bass Pro. They had a bunch in stock when I was there last week. I went for Titegroup or HP38 which they usually have, but no luck. Lots of 700x, and others though.
Anyone try it through a Lee PPM and how's it meter? I would hate to go back to weighing every charge.

I have not tried 700x in 380 as it does not meter as well as other powder I like in 380. I have used it in 45 and 38spl where it works very well.
I have found on the Dillon powder measure that the aquarium pump trick works very well for getting more consistent drops with powders like 700x. I would occasionally get +/- 0.2gn without it, but always +/- 0.1gn with it.
In case you don't know about the pump trick, basically you just strap an aquarium air-pump to the side of the hopper, the vibrations help settle the powder into the charge bar.
