Anyone use the Nikon Prostaff 7 Rangefinder?

I know it is not the same model, butI have used a Nikon Prostaff 550 for four or so years. Works well, I have only used it out to about 400 yards, but it has been dead on every time I have checked it. Good battery life, and no reason to complain.

Overall, I have been very pleased with Nikon products. Besides the range finder, I have a pair of Nikon Monarch binoculars, and a Nikon night vision. I Have had nothing but good results with all of the above. Two hunting buddies use Nikon scopes, and do nothing but brag on them. I guess the point of this is, in my opinion, Nikon products are good, and seem to offer great value for performance versus price. YMMV.

I also have the 550, and use it frequently. It is accurate, never changed the battery, works great. Optics suck if you get the sun anywhere on the objective side of the device, lots of glare. For the money though, it is hard to beat. I do not attempt to range long shots, and this would not be my choice for that. I use it for setting up a makeshift range out to 150 yrards or so, and for setting the adjustable objectives on my .22's and airguns. I have not been able to get results on objects past 250-300 yards. Could be a weak battery, but if I had a trophy tag for big horned sheep, I would want something that could range reliably to 600 yards or so. Not that I would take that shot, but I would want to know how to hold if I did.
