So I want honest reviews from people that have used these. Not someone that thinks they are crap because of the price.

I have read review after review of the Center Point scopes with 98% of them being positive. I did notice, a lot of guys are using other rings though. I bought one to try for myself and to do a review of a while back. I ended up mounted it in a set of Weaver rings. I've since decided to switch it to a different gun, but the problem started when I realized my medium rings wouldn't work. I went to a few local stores to get a set of high rings, and they either had ones that looked equally as crappy as the Center Point ones included with the scope, or they didn't have any. I did find a 1 set of Weaver Grand Slams which I bought, but after reading reviews at home I took them back as every review I found on them was negative. So I thought what the heck, I will try these Center Point rings out. I mounted them up only to discover I stripped a screw. I then noticed they included an extra one with the scope, so I used that. I got it all tightened down and used locktite. I went to shoot it, and the gun shoots great. I marked the scope, and the rings to the bases so I can see if they shift any. That being said, these rings felt cheap, but held up for the 50 rounds I shot without moving. Should I expect these to hold up? I really don't have an extra $30 laying around that I can spend on scope rings for a backup gun that I hardly ever shoot. If this was my main deer rifle, I'd have already ordered a set of Burris Signature Zee rings, but this is a gun in reality, that I will maybe hunt with once or twice. Should I replace these rings anyway, or is the biggest problem with aluminum rings the screws just stripping and once you get it mounted, as long as it's tight they stay tight and work? I've just never used rings this cheap before, but have heard bad things, so wanted to hear others experiences.

I thought they were quite good as I remember; velvet-lined even. Never a problem on a really hard-kicking 30'06!

I have them on this Bushmaster and they seem pretty solid to me. I havn't had issues with stripped screws or anything and they have stayed in place and tight without loctite. I used the CP on this rifle because it was my first camo job and I didn't want to risk anything with an expensive scope. It's the 4-16x40 model I think.

I also have a couple on Marlin 795s and those .22 size rings have also held up just fine.

Glad to hear they are working out for you guys. Maybe I will leave them on there. I just hate to spend $30 on a rifle that hardly ever gets used to hunt.

I have three Center Point scopes. Two are mounted at the moment, one on a Marlin 60 and the other is temporarily on a Marlin 1894c that I'm working up .357 magnum loads for. I have not had any problems with the mounts (or anything else on these scopes). The eye relief at max power on the 6-16X is very critical. Yes my better scopes don't have this problem, but for the price, these are pretty amazing optics.

I have two 4-16x40mm (WalMart $70) one on a 30-06 the other on a 308 Win.

No problems with them. They do get dark above 14x but I do most of my shooting with them is at 10-12x and they are bright, clear, good contrast at that power. I don't use the rings they come with only because they are too tall. I replaced them with weaver rings that just clear the the barrel on these two rifles.

For $70 they are a bargin while others in the same price range can be junk.

I wont comment on the rings in question as I have no experience good or bad. This is why I do not read and certainly put no stock in reviews. My personal experience and reviews are often vastly different. In the end I try for myself. If everything works out well, great,if not, I don't repeat it again. I never let others(especially people I don't know) tell me what to buy or what to think about it.

I have seen a lot of cheap chinese rings. Some are OK, some are worthless crap. The brand does not matter since there is no QC at the chinese production facility. I recently tried some Millet rings (china) that were so badly made, they prevented the scope from mounting. Millet also sells great US made rings for more money. Pretty much you get what you pay for. Quality US made rings are gonna be pricey. I'm looking for a ring lapper, you mount a set of rings, then hand-lap with this inexpensive tool before mounting the scope. anybody have one for sale? :D
