Stopped by Cabela's the other day looking for some bullets I could use for 444 Marlin loads. The only thing they had that would fit in the 444 Marlin brass were Hornady 225 gr. FTX bullets. I picked up a box hoping they would work in my 444 Marlin but so far have been unable to find any load data using this particular bullet. I have found data for the 265 gr. FTX bullets but nothing for the 225 gr. Has anyone tried these bullets in their 444 Marlin? If yes, mind sharing your reload data? Thanks.

Hi Parker51 - I have used these loads for the past 2 years. They are very accurate. I have taken 3 deer using these rounds. Although, I have found that in compairsion to the Remmington 444 round they have less knock down power. That Remmington round is a BIG load.

Thanks! What powder did you use? I loaded a few with 41.6 grs of IMR 4198 and will give these a try before loading more. This was the beginning load on Hodgdon's web site for a 225 gr. Barnes bullet. I loaded them to the first cannelure under the plastic tip giving me a C.O.A.L. of 2.598. Hope to get to the range tomorrow to see how they shoot.
