My son turned me on to it, so I had to take a look. I'm sure I'm about to offend someone, but such is life. I have never run into a group of more vulgar, crass, stereotypical, knuckle-dragging, gun-nuts in my life. They must have gotten their gun knowledge straight from the Sara Brady handbook. In 15 minutes I was treated to a discussion about one chatter's 12 y/o daughter, who was refered to as a whore. Another discussion on what would be the best weapon to use on a shooting spree. Nevermind Art's grandma, MY grandma would have been embarrassed (you'd just have to know her, trust me it's bad) I can only hope that these people are plants from the grabbers to pove their point.

Yep, looked in once about 4 years ago, said no way, and haven't been back since.

It loses nothing to the old rec.guns boards.

I think it's pretty true that individuals find their proper niches. TFL and THR are probably at the top of the class meter, and gather that kind of poster. Those who don't live up to that don't stick around for long.

How I've lasted on both boards for over three years is beyond me. :)

Fella's;

Just the image that the sport needs to project on a major player's board. I admit that I haven't been there, but I sincerely hope that you ran into an isolated 'discussion'. Gad what a public image to put forth if that's a common event. The first amendment lives & our 'bretheren' use it to damage the second. What irony.

Well, just to get some perspective on the thing, I spent a little time going to other chat rooms. I must admit ignorance of the "chat" thing, since I only use the internet to check this board and look at things I can't afford to buy. I'm sure that there are some normal people about in those cyber rooms, but from what I've seen in the past hour, 90% of those people need medication. Nothing but rudeness and crass sexual references. I'm sure if anyone has anything sensible to say it is immediately buried in trash. If this is the future, I'm not so sure I'm interested in it. But like I said, my experience is rather limited, I may be wrong.

It is my opinion that most of the chat rooms are occupied by children and those that stalk them. Some people have little or no control over what comes out of their mouths or off their fingertips.

I doubt it has much to do with gun owners or the topic of the chat room being gun-related. Yahoo's chat rooms and message boards are one giant garbage bin. Half the people are trolls being as vile and disgusting as possible in an unmoderated forum. Read any story at Yahoo News, then click on the "message board" link for that story. Katherine Hepburn is dead, and half the posts about her are unprintable here.
