Hey guys, I'm thinking about getting a G27 for CCW, but I don't know too much about .40, and how it acts in a 3.43" barrel, so do you guys have any numbers on velocity/energy for different calibers? I am not so worried about it, but I'd just like to know.

Thanks!

The following is from DoubleTap Ammunition.

140 gr Barnes TAC-XPd: 1170 fps - 426 ft/lbs from a 3.5"bbl.

150 gr Nosler JHP: 1218 fps - 496 ft/lbs from a 3.5"bbl.

165 gr Bonded Defense™ JHP: 1140 fps - 476 ft/lbs from a 3.5"bbl.

Some posted the DoubleTap's ammo actually chrono'd slightly lower in their Glocks.

Still, it should give you a good reference comparison.

For me, I load 165/180 gr Remington Golden Saber Bonded JHP in my carry G27.

SG Ammo usually has good prices on factory JHP:

180 gr Federal HST - 1015 fps - 50/$19.95
180 gr Federal HydraShok - 1000 fps - 50/$21.95
165 gr Remington GS BJHP - 1150 fps - 25/$10.95
180 gr Remington GS BJHP - 1015 fps - 25/$13.95
