Anything close to H335?

http://hodgdon.com/burn-rate.html Benchmark is right next to it on the list. I really like Benchmark. Whenever I can find it locally it's normally $1-2 more per pound than Varget but it meters waaaay better than Varget. IMR 8208 is another good powder pretty close on the chart to H335. But Benchmark and 8208 are both stick powders. If you want a ball powder close to H335, Ramshot X-Terminator and Tac, and Accurate 2230 and 2460 would probably be your best options unless you are looking to load some lightweight bullets.

Well, what's so special about H335? Look at Hodgdon's burn rate chart. Find H335. The 3-4 powders that are faster, and the next 22 or so powders that are slower, are all fairly close. Most will work well for 223 or 308, for instance. Find one in stock, then look up some load data to see if it'll work for you. There isn't much that H335 can do that 2 dozen other powders can't do just as well.

Yep...Agree... But.. We seem to get comfortable going with "established" powders, and not having to buy a pound of it to find we don't like it.

Have tried many powders in .223, and WW 748 was my first "favorite" .223 powder, and now that H335 is almost akin to looking for gold, I can tell you that 748 still works rather well in all of mine.

The reason I am asking about H335 is because I just picked up a like new CZ carbine in 223 that is making some very nice groups using 335 and 53 grain Sierras.

Since a load was already worked up, I didn't want to start over again from scratch. Just can not find any 335 locally.

Wc844..

I've been using WC844 for most of my 55gr. FMJ loads in my AR's. Seems to work well+I have been using the same weight as H335.
For the heavier weights, I have been using WC846, at the same weight as BL-C(2).
Last year I was able to buy both of these WC powders at my LGS for $80.00 per 10#...Wish I still could.:scrutiny::scrutiny:..Bill

Where are you located? I have some H335 I would be willing to trade for some Varget, Reloader 15, BLC-2 or TAC.

It will be deer season before I get that far South (I am in Central, OH). Good luck!

H335 is real close to W748 but not quite as accurite as 335 in my .223 varmint... a 50# keg of 335 last me about 2yrs.... starting on a new one this week
