Hello everyone, finally registered after a long time lurking in the shadows. First, thanks to all of you for a fun board to read, endless knowledge on these pages.

As the title says, I'm finally applying for my FFL after considering it on and off over the last couple years. I'm not looking for someone to hold my hand through the process or anything like that, I have all the necessary forms and they seem really straight forward but I have a couple basic questions about the overall process that I was hoping someone might be willing to PM me and give me a little advice. Feel free to PM me or comment below.

Thanks!

Dont get in a hurry.

Keep your records straight

Pay your taxes.

The ATF is there to help you as long as you don't try to pull anything funny.

Invest in a good safe.

I just received mine. what do you want to know?

Only took about 30 days contrary to other reports

I received my 01FFL last March 14th. Processing all the paperwork involved in selling and transferring firearms actually takes longer than I expected, but it is definitely worth it to me. The only real downside I have noticed is that I have far less time to spend shooting and reloading.

Feel free to send me a PM with any questions - I will try to answer as well as I can.
