Little help for the new guy?

Hello

I am not really new since I have been lurking for nearly a year but have never registered until yesterday.

I was hoping someone with a better grasp of the law could help explain West Virginia CCW laws to me.

I have just moved here, to Charleston, after a stint in the armed services and I am not too familiar with the laws here.

I have a carry permit from the last state I was stationed in which was Alabama and I am going to go apply for my permit here as soon as I get settled in at work.

Some states have their own local carry advocacy organizations - I'd try a web search for that.

Be aware that packing.org is spotty in terms of when it's up and how current the info is. handgunlaw.us seems to be pretty good.

Also, check opencarry.org to see if you need a permit to carry openly.

Have you thought about taking formal instruction? I can recommend a trainer that offers regular classes in WV.

And, you are welcome to come train with us when we meet every third Saturday at our club. Some team members drive for 2 - 3 hours to spend the day with us.
