1995 My son, Tanner, came in to this world.

Sean Cloherty,
Yep me too.
Like me you probably a bit hesitant about turning on news upon awakening on this day.
For some number of years I kept wondering what would happen on my birthday, July 17. Hell, 2 or 3 planes crashed on my birthday, most noteably being TWA 800. I had a conspiracy theory going on if a historic event would take place on my birthday, +/- 5 days. Something happened like clockwork for about 7 years straight. :uhoh:

Huh. Donald Sutherland and I have the same birthday. (Hawkeye from MASH movie)

1st failed attempt at gun control, 4/19/1775

Sarah Brady's great, great, great, great uncle (in my fevered imagination I imagine Sarah with a slightly heavier moustache), commanding a troop of British soldiers and German Hessian mercenaries, attempted to confiscate the weapons and powder of the Massachusetts militia stored at Concord via the Lexington green.

This attempt at early gun control was remarkably unsuccessful and the Brits ran all the way back to Boston to stay with the Kerry's and Kennedy's, strong sympathizers of their gun confiscation programs.

History tells us that Diane Feinstein, only 35 at the time and considered quite a hottie by the Kennedy family but far too poor for the Kerry's, served as a bar wench for the British and Hessian troops.

... and that is this day in history, April 19, 1775.
