I'm sure that this is not the legislative intent of the Utah legislature.

Timeline of events

April 12: UT ccw application sent to UT BCI via USPS Registered Mail.

April 14: USPS confirms delivery of application package.

June 12: Statutory 60 days arrives.

June 13: Conversation with UT BCI. BCI rep stated delivery on April 19, due to a "7 day in-mail processing" (7 days to open your mail?). As of this date, ccws received April 18th are being processed, April 19th ccws should be processed June 14.

June 19: Revised statutory 60 days arrive.

June 20: Issued this date, not June 14 as previously informed. CCW not mailed. (this information ascertained on 6/22 contact)

June 22: Issued ccw still not mailed. BCI rep stated it would be mailed June 23(as if I believe that). Ascertained that there were no irregularities in the background check.

End timeline.

Summary

9 day total "mailing time" to BCI.

Issue in 61 days.

9+61=70 days waiting.

Mailing of ccw is still pending (Probably a "7 days out-mail processing").

Will call BCI again next week.

Mine was dropped off to them Thursday (as was my wife's) four years ago.

Mine was in my hands via the mail on the following Tuesday (3 business day turn around)... wife's took another two weeks.

Both from Utah County.

Semper Fidelis!

I feel your pain.

My CA CCW permit for my county has taken...

Oh, wait.

(sigh)
Nevermind.

I'm sure it's a PITA, and really shouldn't be needed anyway, but it still must be nice to at least know one is coming.

(glass half full?) :)
