Anyone familiar enough with the AR-10 format and or DPMS 308 firearms to tell me if having a loose bolt ejector pin is standard? Not only was the one in question about 0.045" to narrow in diameter but was 0.474" long. Which is too short. Fabricated a new thicker, longer one from hardened steel drill shank , 0.54"long x 0.124 dia. up from 0.474 x 0.118".
Uppers/ lowers were matched set but from different supplier than BCG.
It is like the AR-15 BCG with serrations on the side. The 308 does not need assist in closing the bolt home. I have read serrated bolts should not be used in higher caliber firearms. So ordered a new smooth Ni-Bo coated BCG so we'll see.

Ejector pin?

That should be a roll or spring pin, and it should fit nice and tight. I believe they are the same as AR15 ejector pins so they are deeply set in the holes. Nominal size: 1/16" diam x .375" long

The extractor pin should be held in by upward spring pressure from the extractor spring inside the bolt. By depressing the extractor the pin should be able to be pressed out.
