AR-10 vs AR-15 parts compatibility

I've decided to build an AR-10 lower one part at a time while I'm .....away for a while. I plan to buy the lower, buy the parts while I'm gone and assemble it when I get home. I plan on a variety of custom parts, (such as oversize safety and bolt release controls) so I need to know, which, if any, of the regular AR-15 parts will NOT work or fit in a DPMS-pattern AR-10?

Wow. No one then?

In my digging, I found one opinion that said the takedown pins are different, and the bolt release uses a screw instead of a roll pin. Does this sound right?

I know for the most part grips and stocks are compatible between AR-15s and their .308 counterparts. The receivers, the bolt carrier group and the trigger assembly are not.
