AR-15/.22 LR Kit Question.

I have a DPMS AR with a Colt M16A1 Upper and a DPMS kit for .22 plinking, I havent had a chance to put many rounds through it yet, however I was experiencing trouble using 36 gr. cartridges. Not enough energy to carry the bolt far enough back to cock the hammer, but it will chamber a new round.

Anybody else own a .22 kit? Would running 40 gr fix this problem.

Also, would it be better investment to order a Ciener Kit? I had to sand part of the plastic DPMS magazine down in order to get it to fit my rifle.

Maybe it's just new and needs to be broken in.

I'd definitely use high velocity ammo with it.

This page here shows how to slick up a Ciener. Maybe that will give you some ideas.

I know the hyper velocity .22 WMR group horribly when I run them through my Marlin 782, dunno if the same would happen with the .22LR though.
